Getting Started

Do you work outside Kabale?

Yes. We’re based in Kabale and serve the wider Kigezi region. We also take projects elsewhere in East Africa by arrangement.

How do I request a quote? What should I send?

Use the Request a Quote form. Include your location, plot size/brief, desired timeline, and any drawings/photos. We’ll respond within one business day with next steps.

What happens at the first consultation?

We clarify goals, constraints, budget range, and timeline; review any existing information; and outline options, risks, and an initial cost range. You’ll receive a short note defining scope and next steps.

Do you visit the site before design begins?

Where possible, yes. A site visit helps us assess access, terrain, services, and neighbours—reducing surprises later.

Services & Scope

Which services do you provide?

Architectural Design, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Project Planning & Supervision, Construction Management, and Building Inspections. See more on the 'Our Services page'

Can you handle approvals and permits?

Yes. We prepare compliance‑ready drawings and can assist with submissions to local authorities. Timelines vary by jurisdiction.

Do you handle renovations and additions as well as new builds?

Yes. We work on extensions, refurbishments, change‑of‑use, and remedial/strengthening works.

Do you provide 3D renders and walkthroughs?

Yes. We include 3D views in design stages and can create additional renders or walkthroughs on request.

Pricing, Fees & Payments

How do you charge for design and supervision?

Depending on scope, we use fixed‑fee, percentage‑based, or hybrid models. We’ll propose a structure that fits the project size and complexity.

What’s included in your fee?

A defined set of deliverables (e.g., drawings, BOQs, reports), specified meetings/site visits, and coordination as listed in the proposal. Exclusions (e.g., statutory fees, lab tests) are stated clearly.

What payment terms do you offer?

Standard milestones (e.g., mobilisation, design approvals, construction stages, handover). Flexible schedules can be discussed for larger projects.

Are site visits included?

Yes, a set number is included per scope. Additional or emergency visits can be arranged as needed.

How do you handle changes/variations?

We log requested changes, confirm cost/time impact, and only proceed once you approve the variation.

Timeline & Process

How long does design take?

Typical small to mid‑scale projects take 2–8 weeks for design, depending on complexity and decision speed.

How long do approvals take?

Approval times vary by authority. We prepare complete submissions to reduce back‑and‑forth; we’ll advise an estimated range after scoping.

How do you manage schedule risks?

We identify critical path items early, stage procurement, maintain a risk register, and issue look‑ahead plans to keep works moving.

Drawings & Deliverables

What will I receive?

PDF and, where applicable, editable CAD files of plans/sections/elevations, specifications/finishes schedules, BOQs, and for structures: stamped drawings, calculation summaries, and bar‑bending schedules.

Will your drawings be accepted by local authorities?

They are prepared to local requirements and coordinated across disciplines. Acceptance remains with the authority, but complete submissions reduce queries.

Can you coordinate with my preferred contractor/engineer?

Yes. We can collaborate with your team and align on scope, interfaces, and responsibilities.

Construction & Supervision

Do you manage contractors?

Yes. We can act as construction manager/owner’s representative, handling coordination, quality, safety, and reporting.

How often do you visit site?

Visit frequency depends on scope and stage—defined in the proposal. We increase presence at critical activities.

What happens if quality issues are found?

We issue non‑conformance notes with practical corrective actions and verify close‑out.

Inspections & Existing Buildings

Do you conduct pre‑purchase or due‑diligence inspections?

Yes. We assess structure, roofing, damp/waterproofing, finishes, and visible MEP to help you make informed decisions.

What does an inspection report include?

Checklists, annotated photos, risk‑prioritised findings, and practical remedial recommendations.

Can you provide structural assessments for issues like cracks or settlement?

Yes—through targeted investigations and engineering recommendations.

After Handover & Warranty

Do you support clients after handover?

Yes. We provide a handover pack (as‑builts, O&M, warranties) and a defects‑liability plan; we can schedule post‑occupancy reviews.

What is the defects‑liability period?

Typically defined in the works contract. We’ll align our supervision close‑out with the agreed period and response times.
